On July 22, the An Hai Ward People’s Committee fined N.T.T. (born in 1968, residing in Thanh Khe Dong Ward) for not listing prices as required by law. The fine was set at 750,000 VND (about USD 30).

According to the penalty notice, if Ms. T. fails to voluntarily pay the fine by the deadline, she will be subject to enforcement measures. Additionally, for each day of late payment, she must pay an extra 0.05% of the outstanding fine.

Earlier, on July 13, social media users shared a post accusing a street food stall of overcharging a group of Lao tourists on Duong Dinh Nghe Street. The group reportedly ordered four octopus skewers, two okra skewers, one portion of chicken feet, and three sausages and were charged 760,000 VND. After questioning the price, the vendor refunded 200,000 VND, reducing the total to 560,000 VND.

Following the online backlash, An Hai Ward authorities conducted an inspection and identified the stall operators as Ms. T. and N.T.N.L. (residing in Ngu Hanh Son Ward). The location is on a street where street vending and soliciting tourists are prohibited.

Officials issued a report, ordered the removal of the pushcart and other items encroaching on the sidewalk, and warned against resuming vending activities at unauthorized locations. On July 15, the ward invited the individuals involved to complete documentation and proceed with the penalty process.
