The accident took place at approximately 8:20 AM. According to local officials, a small car was crossing the suspension bridge when one of the cables unexpectedly snapped, resulting in the vehicle falling into the water.

Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Chairman of the Thanh Yen Commune People’s Committee, confirmed that the local government responded immediately upon receiving the emergency report. Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene to rescue the victims and provide first aid.

“All three victims were rescued in time and are now receiving medical care,” Tuan stated.

Following the incident, authorities cordoned off the area around the bridge, initiated a safety inspection to assess its current condition, and submitted a report to provincial authorities for further action.

Traffic in the area has been rerouted through a nearby iron bridge to ensure public safety.

The exact cause of the cable failure remains under investigation.
