Frustrated by the loud crying of his girlfriend’s daughter, 25-year-old Do Duc Binh violently grabbed and struck the child multiple times, causing her head to hit the wall and bed frame. Despite emergency treatment, the little girl died one day later from her injuries.

On June 5, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Binh Thuan Provincial Police officially charged and detained Do Duc Binh (residing in Duc Long Ward, Phan Thiet City) for murder.
The victim, a 3-year-old girl, lived with her biological mother, 35-year-old Ngo Thi L., and Binh at a home in Mui Ne Ward, Phan Thiet City.
According to investigators, at around 8:30 a.m. on May 27, the child’s mother called local police in Mui Ne to report signs of abuse against her daughter, N.T.M.N.
She stated that earlier that morning, she had called her daughter several times but received no response. Seeing signs of unconsciousness, she and relatives rushed the child to Binh Thuan General Hospital.
Doctors observed scratches and bruising from the child’s left eye up to the left side of her head. A CT brain scan revealed subdural hemorrhaging in multiple regions: right temporal lobe, right occipital lobe, left frontal lobe, and along the cerebral falx.
The child was then transferred to Children’s Hospital 1 in Ho Chi Minh City for further treatment.
Following the report, local police launched an immediate investigation, coordinating with provincial authorities to inspect the scene and take statements.
It was confirmed that the child had been living with her mother and Binh in a house located in Quarter 12, Mui Ne Ward.
During questioning, Do Duc Binh admitted that at approximately 6:00 a.m. on May 27, the child had woken up and cried upon realizing her mother was not home.
Agitated by her persistent crying, Binh admitted to twice grabbing the child’s shirt and striking her repeatedly. In one instance, her head hit the bedroom wall, and in another, it struck the edge of the bed.
When the child began crying louder, Binh picked her up and dropped her onto a mattress. Shortly afterward, the child’s mother returned and attempted to wake her for school but found her unresponsive.
Binh then rode the child to Mui Ne General Clinic for emergency care. Later, the mother contacted her ex-husband, and the two brought the child to Binh Thuan General Hospital before transferring her to Ho Chi Minh City.
Despite efforts to save her, the girl passed away at around 3:00 p.m. on May 28.
The case is under continued investigation by Binh Thuan authorities.
