Due to the complex developments of Typhoon Wipha (Typhoon No. 3), several banks have announced temporary closures of branches and transaction offices in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Hung Yen, Ninh Binh, and other areas.

As of 11 p.m. on July 21, several banks, including Vietnam International Bank (VIB), Tien Phong Bank (TPBank), and Orient Commercial Bank (OCB), confirmed temporary closures of locations within the storm-affected regions.

VIB has announced the suspension of operations at 17 branches and transaction offices in Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, and Hung Yen on July 22.

In Hai Phong, VIB will temporarily close the Hai Phong and Hong Bang branches, along with transaction offices in Thuy Nguyen, Ngo Quyen, Le Chan, Bach Dang, Hai An, and Lach Tray.

In Quang Ninh, the Quang Ninh and Cam Pha branches will close, along with transaction offices in Uong Bi, Mao Khe, Bai Chay, Ha Long, and Cua Ong.

In Hung Yen, VIB will suspend operations at its Thai Binh Branch and the Le Quy Don transaction office (under the Thai Binh Branch) on July 22.

These locations are expected to resume normal operations on July 23.

TPBank has also suspended services at several branches and TPBank LiveBank 24/7 stations due to heavy rain and storm conditions.

As of 4 p.m. on July 21, services were halted in TPBank To Hieu and TPBank Ngo Quyen (Hai Phong), and TPBank Cam Pha and TPBank Uong Bi (Quang Ninh).

For TPBank LiveBank 24/7, services have been suspended since 12 p.m. on July 21 at locations in Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh (LiveBank Thai Binh), Hung Yen, and LiveBank Le Ngoc Han (Hanoi).

TPBank has not provided a specific reopening time, as it depends on the storm's impact.

OCB also announced temporary closures on July 22 at the following locations:

OCB Quang Ninh Branch, Cam Pha, Bai Chay, and Uong Bi transaction offices; Hai Phong Branch, and Lach Tray, Le Chan, and Ngo Quyen transaction offices; Thai Binh Branch; Ha Nam Branch; Nam Dinh Branch, with transaction offices in Y Yen and Hai Hau; Ninh Binh Branch, Ninh Son, Gia Vien, and Kim Son transaction offices.

The banks emphasized that during these temporary closures, card transactions, mobile banking, and ATM services will continue to function normally.

Branches and offices not included in the suspension list will remain open as usual.

During this period, banks are encouraging customers to prioritize online transactions via digital banking platforms.
