Mr. Phan Dinh Tue (holding flowers).

Bamboo Airways has published documents for an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders scheduled for July 5. The meeting will consider Mr. Tue's resignation from the board, effective immediately upon shareholder approval.

During the session, shareholders will also vote to appoint a new board member for the 2023-2028 term and make changes to the company’s supervisory board for the same term.

Mr. Tue was appointed chairman for the 2023-2028 term in February 2024, following a tenure as permanent vice chairman. The current board also includes vice chairmen Le Thai Sam, Le Ba Nguyen, and Nguyen Ngoc Trong, along with board member Le Thi Truc Quynh.

Founded in 2017, Bamboo Airways aims to reach break-even by 2025 and improve operational efficiency in the following years. The airline plans to expand its fleet from 30 to 50 aircraft between 2026 and 2028, focusing on both domestic and key international routes.

Since 2022, Bamboo Airways has experienced frequent changes in top leadership. On March 31, 2022, Dang Tat Thang became chairman of both FLC Group and Bamboo Airways after Trinh Van Quyet’s arrest on March 29. Thang stepped down in late July 2022, with Nguyen Ngoc Trong taking over on August 13.

On June 21, 2023, former Japan Airlines executive Oshima Hideki was appointed chairman for the 2023-2028 term. Less than a month later, on July 11, Bamboo Airways accepted the resignation of four board members, including Mr. Hideki, and appointed Le Thai Sam as chairman. Mr. Sam was succeeded by Mr. Tue.
