Vietnam’s top-ranked female badminton player, Nguyen Thuy Linh, has achieved a historic career milestone, reaching world No.18 in the latest BWF women’s singles rankings.
Vietnam are given five slots to compete in the TotalEnergies BWF World Championships 2025, which will be held in August in France.
Linh, currently ranked No. 26 in the world, defeated Denmark's Line Christophersen, ranked No. 35, with a score of 2-1 on May 22.
Despite strong support from the German crowd, Linh, placed 26th on the world rankings, struggled from the start. Yeo's powerful and precise smashes quickly established a seven-point lead at 9-2 before closing the first set 21-16.
Vietnam's top badminton player Nguyen Thuy Linh will compete in the Yonex German Open 2025.
