A violent tornado swept through three hamlets in Ba Chuc commune, An Giang province on the morning of July 23, tearing the roofs off 19 houses and a local health station, according to local authorities.
Vo Thanh Tuan, Chairman of the Ba Chuc Commune People’s Committee, confirmed that the tornado struck at approximately 7:10 a.m. and lasted for around 15 minutes. The storm affected the hamlets of Soc Tuc, Trung An, and An Thanh. Despite the intensity, no casualties were reported.
"The tornado was powerful and accompanied by heavy rain. Although no one was injured, 19 homes and the local health station had their roofs completely blown off, and many household items were damaged. We are proposing urgent provincial assistance for the affected families," Mr. Tuan said.
Local authorities, in coordination with the police, militia, and border guards, are actively supporting residents to overcome the aftermath and quickly stabilize their lives.
