According to the official schedule, workers will enjoy a continuous five-day holiday from Wednesday, April 30 through Sunday, May 4, including the weekend. To ensure the standard number of working days in the week, employees will make up for the time off by working on Saturday, April 26.
This holiday schedule applies to officials, public servants, and workers in administrative agencies, public service units, and socio-political organizations.
For organizations and businesses that do not follow a fixed Saturday-Sunday weekend schedule, unit leaders are responsible for arranging a holiday plan that aligns with their operations and ensures that overall activities are not disrupted.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has encouraged private sector businesses to consider following the same holiday schedule. However, depending on operational demands, businesses may assign staff to work during the public holiday. In such cases, working hours must be considered overtime and fully compensated in accordance with the Labor Code.
With the upcoming five-day break, travel, tourism, and shopping demand is expected to surge. Service, transportation, and tourism sectors have already prepared plans to accommodate the anticipated high traffic during this peak period.
