On July 14, PeaceTrees Vietnam Quang Binh confirmed that their MTT1 Multi-tasking Team had safely relocated the bomb. The explosive was initially found by a construction unit from Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park during efforts to clear the Son River flow.

Once the bomb was discovered, the incident was immediately reported to the Quang Tri Provincial Military Command. The command promptly requested assistance from PeaceTrees Vietnam for handling and disposal.

Arriving quickly at the scene, PeaceTrees Vietnam’s MTT1 team identified the device as an MK82 general-purpose bomb, weighing approximately 227kg. After confirming the conditions were safe for removal, the team transported the bomb to a secure explosive storage site on the same day, July 7.

According to the Phong Nha - Ke Bang Tourism Center, operations on the Phong Nha - Tien Son cave tour route have fully resumed. All activities are being carried out with absolute safety assurances for tourists.
