At 9:45 AM on June 11, the Quang Nam Border Guard deployed vessel BP-43.9801 and seven officers from the Border Guard’s 2nd Fleet from Tam Hiep Port in Nui Thanh District to assist in the rescue of the distressed fishing boat.
Earlier that morning, the vessel QNa 92954-TS with two crew members onboard had suffered engine failure roughly 40 nautical miles from An Hoa Cape. While another nearby fishing boat attempted to tow the vessel, strong winds at level 6 and rough seas made the effort extremely difficult.
Upon receiving the alert, the Provincial Border Guard Command instructed the Ky Ha Port Border Station to maintain communication with the boat’s owner while coordinating the rescue operation. The rescue ship is expected to reach the stranded vessel around 1:00 PM.
