Authorities maintain 24/7 search for a motorcyclist believed to have fallen into a complex underground cave system.
At the site of a suspected fatal accident involving a motorcyclist falling into a massive sinkhole in Bac Kan Province, rescue teams have set up tents and are maintaining a 24/7 presence to ensure uninterrupted search operations, deploying appropriate measures when weather permits.

The incident occurred on National Highway 3B, in Kim Lu Commune, Na Ri District, Bac Kan. On the evening of May 29, Nguyen Dang Binh, Chairman of the Bac Kan Provincial People's Committee, told VietNamNet that rescue teams are actively implementing multiple strategies to locate the missing victim.
“We are carefully evaluating the most effective options to expedite the search in Hiep Luc Hamlet, Kim Lu Commune,” Binh stated.
Despite continuous rainfall in Hiep Luc on May 29, the search efforts remained uninterrupted. By late afternoon, water levels in the sinkhole had risen back to initial levels due to heavy rainfall and underground water inflow.
Rescue workers have been using metal hook-equipped poles nearly 20 meters long to probe the bottom of the sinkhole. However, adverse weather conditions have severely hindered search progress. Authorities hope that if the victim’s body is not deeply buried in mud or trapped in rocky crevices, it may surface as water levels rise.
Tents have been erected on-site to support the round-the-clock rescue operation. Teams are prepared to implement suitable methods depending on the changing weather conditions.
Rescue teams set up tents and maintain a constant presence to support the search operation.
Rescue and emergency vehicles are stationed at the scene.
Earlier, on the afternoon of May 28, water pumping operations had to be suspended due to a surge in groundwater and heavy rainfall, causing the sinkhole to refill to its original depth.
Despite deploying specialized tools and manpower, including police, military, local militia, and on-site emergency teams, no results have been achieved thus far.
The incident is believed to have occurred around 9 p.m. on May 26. A motorcyclist reportedly crashed at high speed into a heavily barricaded and clearly marked danger zone at the site of a massive sinkhole in the middle of National Highway 3B, in Hiep Luc Hamlet, Kim Lu Commune.
Locals have dubbed the sinkhole a "death hole" due to its complex geological structure, involving underground caves and subterranean water channels.
